Thank you cards should NEVER be written on the prepackaged foldover notes that say "thank you" on the front. I know that some of the newer etiquette books say that these notes with the "canned" thank-you on the front are acceptable. That's just because the author's are trying to stay popular with the widest posible audience, so that they try to please their readers by saying "oh, this is now acceptable" or "yes, this is now so widely done that it is acceptable." Beware of this "anything goes" advice. Thank you cards should feature your name. Thank you cards should be written on personalized stationery.
