The Eco-Conscious

Let us not forget the Eco-conscious, those who toil and suffer over making this world a better place.  You are not alone.  We care about this planet just as much as you do.  There are many statistics that claim we are destroying the world.  That our bad habits and poor judgment contribute to what is causing a decline to the ozone and the deforestation of many of our rain forests.  Are we truly the culprits or are we just the scape goats holding a smart phone in one hand and a latte in the other?

No matter what the experts and conspiracy theorists say, we are all the end result of this turbulent roller coaster ride.  They say that the Midwest was once the tropics.  Today it snows.  Are we to blame our ancestors for such a change? Most of us understand the aches and pains of shoveling snow each winter.  Through this action alone (yes, something as mundane as shoveling snow) we can see how persistent we are.  The true essence of being human is our ability to adapt.

We see the changes happening to our climate each year.  We see the Eco-conscious doing their part to help, bringing awareness to others who are just too busy to act.  We see new products that are both functional and Eco-friendly at our super markets and home service centers.  We see this change in our personalized stationery items made by 100% recycled materials.

There is a lot of work to be done, a lot of doors to knock on and many minds to shape.  We should remain optimistic – even if Mayan prophecy says otherwise – the countdown begins…There might be hope for all of us just yet.

I really don’t know all that much about global warming or climate change or whatever it’s called these days. I know it’s generally accepted by most people as the truth, even though I think we as a society know a lot less about it than we think we do. But whether it’s all true or not, I think it’s definitely smart to use recycled paper products where we can, and try to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum where possible.

Whenever there’s a blog talking about eco friendly stationery, I feel the need to comment. Not only is it a very important cause (no matter how much or how little we really know about the cause), but the stuff is pretty cool in its own right. Some people might see personalized stationery printed on recycled paper as a necessary evil, a sacrifice they make to feel good about themselves for helping the environment. But not me. I see it as win-win, because I like recycled paper anyway. Having eco friendly stationery is pretty neat because of that grayish tone the paper takes on. When I first got some, I was worried that the darker paper color would be a problem for me, and make it harder to read, but that is definitely not the case! So I guess what I’m saying is, eco friendly stationery is really awesome, and people should give it a chance!

Buying personalized eco friendly stationery isn’t going to single-handedly save the environment, but I think it definitely is a good idea to do so at least sometimes. Reducing your carbon footprint and the amount of waste you produce is great for the environment, and even if you don’t use THAT much personalized stationery, getting yours made out of recycled paper does help, and when it comes to improving the environment I think every little bit counts.

Being eco-conscious is never a bad idea. Eco friendly personalized stationery isn’t exactly my favorite, but it’s cool in its own way. It definitely helps to know that you’re making a minimal impact on the environment by using recycled paper when you can.
