Personalized thank-you cards are still a “must have” in my household. I still use them and so does my husband — so do my children.

It’s the same in my family ! I was raised that way !

Personalized writing cards have an extra bonus — when you pay a little more money to buy this kind of stationery, you tend to use it more often, and write more thank you’s because you want to maximize your investment. :)

Personalized thank you cards are such a great thing to have. Sometimes a verbal thank you is not enough when somebody does something nice for you. Saying thank you with a text, email, or other electronic means won’t do either. For something really nice, you need to give a proper thank you note, and that’s where these personalized thank you cards come in. Too many people don’t appreciate the importance of thank you cards.

You know so many people from so many walks of life have come to realize the appropriateness and the professionalism of thank you it boggles my mind. At one time I didn’t realize the recognition you build by simply saying thank you, acknowledging that someone deserves a bit of recognition for going out of their way to make someone’s situation a bit more bearable, the day a bit more brighter, someone’s load a little more lighter. Thank You Cards become a part of your professional demeanor. You can and should send Thank You Cards for invitations, interviews and for all those who pitched in for a project for you or for some one else. Thank You Cards are sent at weddings for those that send gifts. The same is done for graduations, birthdays and barmitzvahs. Thank You Cards are those wonderful, warm , respectful ways we acknowledge those small finite ways people’s actions have changed situations. Sometimes we reflect on them and see how their effect has become infinite, how their small act of gratitude has changed perceptions and influenced future acts of gratitude.

One of the great things about thank you cards is that they really convey just how much appreciation the sender feels. I was raised to believe that you should send thank you cards when someone gives you a gift, and I have to say that sending a personalized thank you card is much better than just any old regular card. When you send a personalized thank you card, you’re really letting the recipient know that their gift meant a lot to you, and that’s a great message to send.

    7. pen lady

I agree with Ms. Conger. The personalized card enables to the sender to day more about their feelings — sometimes in a very few words. Written messages can be very brief and carry so much meaning.

Personalized stationery cards purchased from this website — Giftsin24 — have the added feature of being very thick. At least this is true of the ones in the personalized cards section on the main menu bar on the home page. These are the single-panel cards, not the folded notes. These are as thick as a credit card and have a very nice “snap” in your hand when pick them up, tweak them and feel them. The envelopes for these cards are also made from thick paper, and the quality of the envelopes is excellent. Giftsin24 manufactures all of their own envelopes.

    9. Therese 2010

I agree with Laurel about the thickness of the personalized writing cards here at Giftsin24. Also, I am impressed by how high the raised printing is on the Colonial cards that I ordered in January. Giftsin24 might want to boast a little about the quality of the raised printing because the other companies do not have raised printing that “stands up” (in each sense of the word) like this does.

Let’s find something else to compare the thickness to besides credit cards — how about “as thick as a DVD” ?

The great part about the personalized thank you cards being so thick is that they hold up better and they don’t get folded or bent as easily as regular paper or thinner card stock. Unfortunately the post office isn’t always as gentle with mail as we’d like them to be, so having sturdier cards is always a plus. And even if you are giving your thank you card by hand, you can put it in your bag or purse and not have to worry about it getting damaged too much.

    13. Veraldine, Lincoln,NB

I agree, Jonathan. I like using the single cards like the Banner Card (still my favorite)or any of the Bordered Cards that are found in that same section. Foldover notes seem old-fashioned to me. If I’m going to pay the extra price for personalized stationery, I want to get the THICK cards that go “thunk” on your desk. :)

    14. Staff Writer 3

Well, as a person who works at Giftsin24, I can tell Jonathan and Veraldine that they’re both right — there is something about a THICK card. The ones we sell here at Giftsin24 are 18 one-thousandths of an inch. That might sound like a tiny fraction, but when it translates to the realm of paper and cards, trust me, that’s thick. The personalized cards at Giftsin24 are the thickest that I’ve seen and felt in this competitive marketplace. Needless to say, we’re proud of our cards !

    15. Flora, Canton, IL

OK, 18/1000″ doesn’t sound too thick to me, but I’ll take your word for it. :)

    16. MRLove

It doesn’t sound too thick to me, either.

    17. Jonathan Price

Staff Writer 3, could you tell us for comparison purposes what the “standard” thickness is for personalized cards? As you say, 18/1000 of an inch really doesn’t sound like much, but if you compare that to standard copier paper (which Google tells me is more like 4/1000 of an inch) then it’s a huge difference. So where do other cards fall in comparison to the personalized cards that this site has?

    18. Henry Springs

A thick card should be heavy enough to fit into its card. It’s thick so it wont loose it’s shape despite changing limate conditions in hwere its mailed. Something that’s thick is durable and can be tagged onto boards and be kept in various temperatures without having to worry whether it will shrink. Thick cards are just more durable. They keep very well, displayed or pasted. They’re just mpre durable and depending on how thick the paper is they last longer. That’s the way I feel about Bordered Cards. Executive Cards aren’t so thick but they’re great for sending a message that people will take notice of and remember. I don’t exactly how thick the paper is actually. I just know the more unique the card the more impact its message has. Thicker cards with unique monograms and bolder designs generally stand out The last time I got a card in the mail I noticed tha it wasn’t as thick as our Personalized Notes and Cards made here. There are other things I noticed about: the name, design and brand. It made me realize that our brand makes a big difference.
