Daily Notes’ Spotlight: Photography
Stationery and Your Digital Camera
Stationery in many ways is not just stationery any more. The integration of different materials is more common now than before. This mixture of inks, papers, paints, objects, and photographs has transformed stationery into a long lasting form of communication. One of the most popular trends, one that has been revived over the past few years, is the use of photos in wedding and birthday invitations. Some would even say that this visual detail is necessary to accentuate a planned event or occasion. Your digital camera has proven to be a vital tool.
Wedding Invitations and Announcements – A Timeless Trend
Wedding invitations, some would say, easily cross the threshold of what the art connoisseurs call art. Invitation design has become just as extravagant as any other detail carefully planned by the bride and groom. It’s a big deal. Incorporate your photograph in your invitation or announcement and give your design a polished look.
The Importance of Recording Your Memories
Weddings, birthdays, even a child’s first step, we use technology like our beloved smart phones to record the important memories in our lives. Today, we can turn any moment into a keepsake by a click of a button. Let’s not debate about the positive and negative effects of technology in our daily lives. It is an open-ended discussion. The importance of recording your memories has become even more extraordinary on paper.
Family Photos – Do You Want Cheese With That?
Your family photos are now an intricate part of the design. Stationery has evolved into a more refined art form. Photography can now be added to any personalized card at a much higher resolution. This means that your photos are reproduced using better equipment, richer ink colors and higher quality photographic paper. Be assured that your pictures will get the accolades they rightfully deserve. It’s just a matter of uploading each snapshot.
Birth Announcements – It’s a boy! It’s a girl!
Include a photograph for this special introduction. Proud parents have a tendency to show off and that’s understandable. Stationery is their new platform. Visit our birth announcement’s gallery for more items that incorporate photographs, colorful patterns and adorable illustrations.
Upload your photo – It’s Easier Than You Think…
All you need is a basic digital camera with a resolution of 4 megapixels. An expensive camera with a higher megapixel count and all the fancy features doesn’t always mean that your photographs will come out flawless. Don’t make the mistake of spending a hefty sum on a piece of equipment that takes practice to learn. A point and shoot camera will do just fine. Once you take your prized shot it’s all up to the printer now.

I think including a photo with personalized cards is a great idea. For some things like birth announcements it’s an obvious choice, but even for other things I think it’s a cool idea. I especially love the idea that your photo can be digitally inserted into the personalized card itself, rather than just sticking a photo print into the envelope with it. That’s really cool!

Ray, I agree that it’s very cool that you can add personal photos to personalized cards or other stationery products! This would be a great way to spice up some personalized cards, since many people like to send family photos out with their Christmas cards for example. I also agree that it’s great for wedding announcements, birth announcements, and plenty of other occasions as well. It’s really interesting to see how evolving technology keeps making “old-fashioned” technology like personalized stationery even better.

Personalizing Wedding Invitations and Save The Date Cards with photos is really a great idea. The more memorable you make the message, the more memorable the occasion will be. If you could save time in a bottle or send someone a mental image of how the wedding, bridal shower or anniversary will turn out even before they arrive that would make all the difference in the type of responses you’d receive.

I was about to debate with the statement that “Wedding invitations, some would say, easily cross the threshold of what the art connoisseurs call art.” But then I thought about it, and considering the things that can be considered “art” (like for example, Marcel Duchamp’s “Fountain,” then why not wedding invitations or other personalized stationery as well?
Not that you’d see anyone’s wedding invitations or other personalized cards hanging up in an art gallery I’m sure, but if you take a nice picture and include it with your wedding invitations, then I’m sure it will gather plenty of admiration.

So does GiftsIn24 now offer personalized cards and other stationery with photographs digitally added to the cards? If so, that’s a GREAT idea! I know some of the personalized birth announcements have panels to insert cards, but if you can go one step further and just put the photo directly onto the stationery in good quality, then that’s much better!

Carpe diem is a descriptive term for literature that literally means “seize the day ” or seize the moment. If you are like most you will invest a great deal of time and effort into making the most of golden moments in our lives. For most that will go into presenting the best beginning and inviting all those we would have share in the best beginning and inviting all those we would have share in the best celebration for a wedding or a bridal shower, anniversary, birthday, birth announcement or whatever will arrive with spring showers and subsequent blooming flowers. The best bait, best introduction, best invitation will be the best way of insuring the right mix of people and amenities for the most glorious of times.

Hey Henry, aren’t you forgetting something?
Just kidding, you don’t HAVE to include a quote. It’s just kind of your signature thing is all.
A lot of people like to document their “seizing the day” by taking photos of the cool things they do. While a lot of those end up on Facebook, Twitter, or being sent to people by phone, sometimes you get one that’s just perfect, the kind you really want to keep for a long time. Yes, even those of us who never like the way we look in photos get these once in a great while!
These are the photos you include with your personalized notes. These are the ones you want to have digitally added to your personalized cards. These are the ones you want to send to everyone on your mailing list to show what great times you have (and how good you look!) And that’s why it’s cool that you can now get them directly printed on your stationery!
