It’s hard to believe summer has gotten here so quickly. It seems like just a month or two ago I was still thinking about new year’s resolutions and hoping we wouldn’t get much snow. And now it’s the time for barbecues, swimming, and other outdoor activities.
It’s definitely important to mix up your personalized napkin choices for any barbecues or other parties or gatherings you have around this time of year. Personally I like to go for the bright, festive colors because they seem more appropriate for summer events than the darker, muted tones you might use at other times. Grease has never been one of my favorite musicals, but the emphasis on summer as a time for romance is something I can definitely identify with. There have been a couple blogs here in the last few weeks about having a picnic to take advantage of the warmer weather, and I decided to do just that with my boyfriend. It went really well.
We met outside his office and spread out a blanket in the park nearby. I brought a broasted chicken, salad with his favorite dressing, rice, apples, and cookies for dessert. One thing I really want to do this summer is find time to get to the beach, and maybe have a cookout or something while I’m there. A full-blown beach party like in those old movies would be even better, with a volleyball net set up and people swimming and everything while there are burgers and hot dogs cooking on the grill. I think those Beach Chair foil-stamped napkins would be great for the occasion, though I’m not sure what kind of personalized cards to use for invitations just yet. What kind of invitations would best convey the beach party atmosphere, do you think?
