Mother’s Day Cards

With Mother’s Day a little more than a week away, people are scrambling to send out cards to their mothers to mark this special day and show their gratitude and love.  Mother’s Day is the third-largest day for sending out cards, behind only Christmas and Valentine’s Day, and to mark the occasion the United States Postal Service is processing all first-class mail between now and May 13th with special Mother’s Day postmarks, as announced by the Greeting Card Association at www.greetingcard.org.

Obviously any Mother’s Day cards sent through the mail this year are going to be a little bit more special thanks to these special postmarks, but why not make things even more special by sending a truly great personalized card?  Everyone loves those store-bought cards with the funny pictures, witty sayings and terrible jokes, but to really convey that Mother’s Day sentiment a classy, beautiful card like the Banner Card is a perfect choice.

Just imagine the good feeling your mother will get when she finds a crisp, beautiful envelope in the mail with a unique Mother’s Day postmark, and opens it up to find an even more beautiful personalized card wishing her a happy Mother’s Day from her favorite child (that’s you, of course).  We all want our mothers to be happy, and sending a treasured message written on a beautiful card will definitely bring a smile to her face.  Then when you give her a call to wish her a happy Mother’s Day, you can hear all about the wonderful card you sent.

I use my personalized stationery for all occasions. It allows you to write your own thoughtful message versus using one written by someone else. Mother’s Day is a perfect example of a time when personalized stationery can be used. I am going to sit down this weekend and write a personal loving message to my mother. I suggest more people take this approach and leave her with something she won’t soon forget.

That’s pretty cool, I have to say. I read the article on the GCA site and apparently there are about four different custom postmarks they’re using until Mother’s Day, which is pretty neat. Of course the content of the personalized card is much more important than any postmark that can be put on it, but it’s still cool to know you can get something like this. If it succeeds, I wonder if they’ll do this again for another holiday, maybe for Christmas or something.

Anyway, sending a Mother’s Day card is a good idea, especially if you live any distance away or otherwise aren’t going to physically see your mother that day. Getting an extra touch like this on top of sending a great personalized card is just icing on that cake.

Tamara that’s a great idea. The best part about writing out a heartfelt message is that you can really take the time to get all the words right, which can help you say things you might not think of during a phone call or in person. Plus your mother can keep that sheet of personalized stationery with your wonderful letter on it, and reread again and again whenever she wants to.

This custom postmark thing is kind of neat I suppose, although I’m not sure why the post office is doing this. I don’t really think it will encourage many people to send letters that wouldn’t otherwise do so. But if it does catch on, maybe it will bring in some more business for them which is always a good thing.

      Tamara,

I think the complete message, a well written message and a memorable Personalized Note or card says it so much better. A great written mesage is always enhanced by a unique visual presentation, a unique Personalized Note or Card works to your advantage for any sentiment, any well thought out well written message. Isn’t your mother worth the effort, isn’t any meaningful moment when you’re reaching out with a heartfelt message in White, Ivory, Pink or Blue servng of an ever present specail message that shines through and is well deserving of great expectation. Anyone of our Personalized Notes boldly screaming the message or the recipient’s response is quite a unique way of capturing a moment. With careful contemplation you’ve completed a continuous thought that makes a memorable statement that will surely in the end be remembered by a mother’s smile.

” The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ”

I think everybody should send their mother a personalized card for Mother’s Day. I hope this thing the post office does with the special postmarks convinces more people to do it.

Of course even after the personalized card, I plan to either spend time with my mom on Mother’s Day or at the very least have a nice phone conversation too.

I have to say this is pretty cool, although it would be even cooler if someone had pictures of what the custom postmarks look like. I looked online but couldn’t find any.

I hope that this kind of news will motivate more people to send out personalized cards for Mother’s Day, because it’s something that more people should do. I agree that the Banner Card would make an ideal choice for a heartfelt Mother’s Day message as well.

Father’s Day is a lot closer than you think. It is that one day out of 364 that we pay homage to dear old dad. We thank them for their time, their concern, care and all of the selfless attempts they’ve made to make our path through life a bit easier. A lot of fathers are always quick to lament that they were harder on us than perhaps they should have been but it was only to prevent us from making mistakes, the same mistakes they would’ve avoided as well. Fathers are often like that, trying to guide us through troubled water or make sure we steer clear of an encounter with a lesson much larger than ourselves that we did not see coming. Then that is a focal point that most parents will rest on time and time again and reasons why we look up to our Fathers because despite the fact we often may disagree they are in your corner, looking over your shoulder watching and ready to do what they can. Many of us will send Personalized Cards and Notes for Father’s Day. Some will thank you for being a father others will thank you for being a friend. Regardless we have 123 Best Selling Cards and Notes to honor your father and it matters not where you begin.
