We hear about it everyday. The talk never gets old. Politicians swear that they will make a change. Egg heads all over the world provide us with facts about how the world is transforming itself due to some unknown force. In the beginning, people called it global warming and now it is called climate change. Whatever it is, we are in for some cool special effects. The polar ice is melting. Rain is scarce. Floods are immanent. Earthquakes, forest fires, tsunamis, droughts, solar flares and extraterrestrials are just the beginning.
Call this a case of paranoia. We listen to the radio and watch television everyday and feed our need to be scared. People are now building bunkers in undisclosed areas. They store food for what’s about to come and rely on their gumption to survive the most terrible scenarios. Some people have mistaken these natural changes for the upcoming apocalypse, if such a thing will ever happen. And it is easy to fall for this hoopla when all the evidence points to a tremendous change in our climate.
Should we be scared? Should we buy every Eco-friendly product that’s out there? Will that make a difference? No…Who really knows what is to come? Politicians, science gurus, religious fanatics, the Discovery Channel – they may all claim to have everything figured out – but they don’t. It is all entertainment.
Now, should we ignore all the information? No…we owe a lot to the people who work day and night, providing us with the scientific news and breakthroughs from our fellow brethren. I’ve done some reading on global warming and climate change recently, and my conclusion is that we really don’t know anywhere near as much about it as people like to claim. There’s definitely a huge need to study this phenomenon a lot more, and see if all the things we believe about it are really true or not.
In the meantime though, it’s good to take what little steps you can to be more environmentally conscious. Buying eco-friendly personalized stationery, for example, is a nice way to help out a little bit by reducing the number of trees that get turned into paper. Plus they’re stylish and you can be proud of your part in going green.

While I’m not looking to get into any debate on climate change, I definitely agree that going green is a good idea. Even the staunchest anti-global warming advocates have to admit that saving a tree here and there is a good thing. And one nice way to do that is by buying eco-friendly stationery since it’s made on recycled paper. I don’t do it ALL the time, but I try to get eco-friendly cards whenever I can in order to do my part in saving the environment. Every little bit helps, right?

I always have to chime in on these discussions to talk about how much I love eco-friendly stationery. Honestly, even if it weren’t for the fact that it’s good for the environment, I would like eco-friendly stationery on its own merits. The grayish tone of the recycled paper just looks really cool to me, and I think it’s stylish and really neat.

Eco-friendly personalized stationery is pretty cool, I’ll admit. I think it works better with personalized cards and gift enclosures than it would with personalized notepads, for example. I think GiftsIn24 agrees with me, based on which products they have eco-friendly versions of. I wonder though, could personalized napkins be made from recycled paper, and would that work as well? For that matter, do they already exist? I don’t see any eco-napkins among the products but I could be missing something. It’s Friday after all, and I missed my morning coffee…

Every generation faces some big issues. Fisheries that harvest shrimp, blue crab, red snapper and other commercial fish seemingly escaped the full impact. Oyster and clam beds my take up to decade to recover. The long term effects from the spill may take decades for recovery. Much like the 69,000 acres of rain forest we once destroyed every day we have quickly realized our choices have a consequences.
