3 Wedding Must Haves

It seems like everyone is getting married this year. I keep hearing about wedding receptions, churches, wedding bands, honeymoons and party favors. There are also engagement photos, photographers and cake testing. It all brings reminds me too much of my wedding, and I love it!

I thought the hardest thing about getting married would be changing my last name. I had actually thought about that for years. You are given a name at birth, you grow up with it your entire life and it changes. Amazingly enough, my new last name just came natural, and easier to write for that matter. I actually cut 6 letters from my last name the day I got married. Hey, that would have come in handy all those years of filling in the bubbles on standardized tests. I say that all in good fun.

So, back to the weddings. I have told my soon to be sister in law there are three musts for any amazing wedding:

1. A good DJ
2. An amazing wedding photographer
3. Personalized party napkins

And there it is, the key to a great wedding! My DJ was amazing. My photographer, well, don’t remind me, he wasn’t so great. Thirdly, custom embossed wedding reception napkins with our names on them. I was amazed how much friends and family loved the small details! We got the Forever Foil-Stamped Napkins. But when we originally were shopping around we also had our eye out on the Serenity Napkin.

Happy Wedding Planning!

Why Monograms Are Special

A monogram is the overlapping or combining two or more letters or other motifs to form one symbol or image.

Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols or images.

So why do we love monogrammed stationery so much? Monograms are so different and personal for every single person since the initial to the very left is your individual first name initial. The center, and larger, initial is customarily your last name initial and the initial to the right is your middle initial.

This makes each monogram unique and special. You can also customize your monogrammed notes by selecting the prefect font style. Choose from a personalized script font to create the perfect monogrammed note cards.

Now that you know a little more about monograms you get to decide if you want to monogram a set of notes, cards, napkins, notepads or even a holiday gift set. You can personalize your custom stationery notes or cards with the embossed or printed monogram of your choice.

Your new monogrammed stationery and gifts are great for any time of the year. Your new stationery will ship in 24 hours to your home and office. Remember to order your corporate office gifts too!

The History of Monograms

You love monograms, I love monograms, I think we can all agree they are beautiful and a personal touch to all personalized stationery.

So, where did the monogram come from? When was the first monogram created? Here is a little history for those of you who were wondering where they all began.

Monograms actually first appeared on coins, as early as 350BC. The earliest known examples are of the names of Greek cities who issued the coins, often the first two letters of the city’s name. For example, the monogram of Achaea consisted of the letters alpha (Α) and chi (Χ) joined together.

Monograms have been used as signatures by artists and craftsmen on paintings, sculptures and pieces of furniture, especially when guilds enforced measures against unauthorized participation in the trade. A famous example of a monogram serving as an artist’s signature is the “AD” used by Albrecht Dürer.

An individual’s monogram is often a very fancy piece of art used in heraldry, for stationery, for adorning luggage, for embroidery on clothing, and so forth. These monograms may have two or three letters.

This information was taken from Wikipedia, I hope you enjoyed the History of monograms as much as I did.

Finding a Great New Restaurant

We have lived in our home for over three years. We usually cook at home or grill out, but, sometimes we like to get out to a restaurant and have a nice date night. There are a few fun chain restaurants near our home we usually default to when going out to eat, we know we like the food and it’s an affordable price. But after a few years of going to the same places we decided to try something new. Crazy, I know! lol.

So we headed north instead of south and discovered that just a few towns over is a great town with some amazing places to have dinner, walk around, do some outdoor shopping and of course have a little ice cream.

We chose this restaurant in downtown Wheaton called Ivy. The place is beautiful with indoor/outdoor seating. The food was amazing. Even the beverage napkins were personalized. The drink napkins had a modern monogram and beautiful foil stamp. The Personalized napkins just made it feel so much fancier.

So if you are looking for somewhere new to eat, Keep looking you may discover a new restaurant near you.

Something special for a special day

Three weeks to go. My youngest brother is getting married. I keep asking and bugging them “how can I help”, “do you need anything at all” they keep saying “no” they’ve got it.

Luckily I am on top of this and I remembered to order the personalized beverage napkins. The Wedding Napkins are going to be a little surprise gift at the wedding for my bride and groom who think they thought of it all.

I personalized the napkins with a monogram and embossed the beverage and appetizer napkins. They are modern, elegant and beautiful and match the wedding decor to a ‘T’

I cannot wait to see their reaction when they see their wedding beverages served on personalized napkins, I ordered enough modern designer napkins and guest towel napkins to serve the cake too. Looking forward to the big party, the decorations are going to be a big hit.

I will let you know what they think!
