World Environment Day

Today is World Environment Day, which commemorates the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment hosted in Stockholm, Sweden in 1972.  That conference is widely recognized as the beginning of political and public awareness of global environmental problems.

It seems rather similar to Earth Day, but each year World Environment Day is commemorated with a celebration, and each year there is a special theme to the day.  This year’s theme is the Green Economy, meaning an economic system that results in improved human well-being while significantly reducing environmental risks.  It’s a noble goal, and with the recent popularity of “going green” this sort of thing is more in the public eye than ever.

So in honor of World Environment Day, why not contribute to the Green Economy by sending out some handwritten letters on eco-friendly stationery?  You can spread the word about the environment, or just send some nice personalized notes to friends and family, but by doing so on recycled paper you will send an additional message.  Specifically, that message is “I care about the environment, and I’m using recycled paper to prove it.”

GiftsIn24.com has a great variety of eco-friendly products made from recycled paper, which is an excellent way to show your support of the environment.  World Environment Day is a great reason, but of course any day is a good day to use some eco-friendly stationery or cards.

Father’s Day Cards

Father’s Day is coming up in just a few short weeks, on June 17th. For some reason, it’s not traditionally as big a day for sending cards as Mother’s Day. You can see this for yourself:  a Google search for “Mother’s Day cards” yields over 64 million results, while “Father’s Day cards” returns only about 5.8 million search results. According to Hallmark, approximately 133 million Mother’s Day cards are sent every year, while Father’s Day cards number closer to 94 million.

For some reason, Father’s Day seems to be less of a card-sending holiday than Mother’s Day. This is perhaps not a big surprise, because for whatever reason we seem to celebrate our mothers more often than our fathers. Dads can be hard to shop for as well; I often have a great deal of trouble finding the right gift for my own father.

But nonetheless, fathers deserve love and appreciation too, so why not send yours a personalized card this year with a heartfelt message for dear old dad? Fathers often seem to get taken for granted, so telling yours exactly what he means to you with a handwritten letter on personalized stationery or a custom printed card would be a great way to make sure he knows how much you appreciate his hard work.

For that matter, if you’re still looking for a great Father’s Day gift, why not give the gift of personalized papers? One of GiftsIn24’s many styles of family pride stationery and personalized note cards might make just the right gift for the father who has everything.

Graduation Gifts and Parties

It’s only a few more weeks until grade schools and high schools let out for the summer.  Many colleges are already reaching the end of their spring semester.  Do you know anyone who’s graduating this year?  If so, maybe you’re planning to give them a gift, or help plan a graduation party for them to celebrate their accomplishment.

GiftsIn24.com has two great Graduation Stationery sets that make excellent gifts for the recent graduate, especially one who is just leaving high school and moving on to college in the fall.  In addition to a notepad with a holder, each set also comes with some great personalized cards with matching envelopes, which will allow the recent graduate to send letters from school and stay in touch in a more personal way than just calling home.  There’s even a pen included with the gift sets.

If you plan a party for your recent graduate, there are several styles of foil-stamped napkins themed for just such an occasion.  Why not gather the family and friends to celebrate this accomplishment and spice up the occasion with custom party napkins that highlight this crowning achievement in academic life?  Whether you prefer the Cap and School foil-stamped napkins, or one of the other styles such as the Diploma, you can get them in the school’s colors as a sort of send-off into the next phase of your graduate’s life.

Planning a Picnic Lunch

Is there a man or woman in your life that you’d like to do something special or romantic for? Or are you looking for a nice way to spend an afternoon with your family? With summer nearly here, maybe the time is right to pack a lunch and go on a picnic. Meet your significant other at work and take them to lunch in a nearby park, or pack the spouse and kids into the car and head for the beach.

Of course, for a proper picnic there are a few obvious things you’ll need, such as food, drinks, and silverware. Pack something that each of you loves to eat and drink, and don’t forget to bring a cooler full of ice to keep the drinks cool. You’ll probably want a blanket to sit on as well, unless you know there will be picnic benches where you’re going.  Suntan lotion and bug spray are great ideas too.  But one thing you definitely can’t forget is your personalized napkins.

Personalized napkins are important to have on a picnic, especially if it’s a lunch date because you both have to go back to work afterward. But even if you go on your day off, you don’t want to have to wipe your mouth on the blanket since you just laid on the ground.

GiftsIn24.com has tons of great personalized napkin designs, and if you frequent this blog you’ve probably seen many of them already. Maybe you have your favorites (I’m partial to the Hello Monkey Foil-stamped napkins, even though they’re a children’s design). But if you’re looking for something different, why not try a newer napkin design, something like the blissful Color Mist Pearl napkins?

With the weather warming up, now is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors by going on a picnic. If you go well-prepared you can have a great and relaxing time, and enjoy a break from your regular routine. You can even keep an extra napkin as a reminder if you have an especially great time.

Staying in Touch

In theory, staying in touch with friends and family separated by long distances is easier than ever today. In addition to exchanging emails or using an instant messenger program (remember those?), you can connect on Facebook, Twitter, or half a dozen other social networking sites. If that’s not enough, most people are just a quick text message or cell phone call away.personalized papers

Let’s be honest though. If you have a Facebook page, you likely have friends on there you knew from college, or high school, or some other place and time in your past, that aren’t a big part of your life anymore. Sure, you can see their status updates, look at their photos, and see what they had for lunch or comment on that funny picture they re-posted from someone else. But how often do you actually talk to these people? Are they really part of your life anymore?

For all the high-tech ways we have of staying in touch with each other, we don’t often take advantage of the opportunity to remain close with these people, even if we still like to consider them important to us. We often find that when someone is that far away, we just don’t have much to talk about with them. It doesn’t help that most of the electronic means of communication at our fingertips are so impersonal. If anything, sending a text or posting on someone’s Facebook wall often accentuates the physical distance separating us from these people.

If you find yourself with an urge to reconnect with someone like this, you might try a text message or a Facebook post, and maybe it will work. But to truly connect on a personal level with someone whom you can’t speak with face to face, there really is no better way than sending a real letter the old-fashioned way. Why not pull out your pad of personalized papers and write a letter to an old friend, one who might live far away now?

By writing with pen and paper, your message will become closer and more personal. Not only will your custom stationery bring a personal feel to the letter that would otherwise be lacking, but the slower pace of writing a letter can cause you to choose your words differently, and really get to the heart of what you’d like to say. It’s a great way to stay close with someone who has moved far away, or reestablish contact with someone who might have drifted apart from you over time.

Alternatively, you could choose to send your message in the form of a personalized card. This is ideal for a birthday, anniversary, or other notable occasion, but can also be fun even if there is no particular upcoming event. Who doesn’t like to receive a personalized card in the mail?

Whether you choose to send a letter or a card, you can find the tools you need right here. GiftsIn24.com has customized stationery and cards to suit a wide variety of tastes, and without a doubt you can find the right medium with which to get in touch with someone you haven’t spoken to in awhile.

Time to Break Out the Barbecue

Now that the weather is warming up quickly and summer is almost here, people are spending a lot more time outdoors.  I’ve started seeing more people walking without jackets, some even wearing shorts.  Taking a walk through my neighborhood, I can smell someone grilling almost every weekend now, and I’m sure it will only get more frequent as summer comes even closer.

Graduation season is also coming up, and finishing school is always a cause for celebration.  Whether graduating from college, high school, or even elementary school, it’s always an additional cause for celebration, so having a bunch of friends and family for a barbecue (or catering if you don’t want to do all that work) is a great idea.

Of course, the most important part of any party is the guest list; the right company can make or break any social gathering.  But the next most important consideration is always the little details.  Did you buy enough chips for everybody?  Are the balloons, banners, and such just right?  Do you have the right personalized napkins to commemorate the occasion?

Whether you’re celebrating a graduation or just the arrival of summer, there are a bunch of excellent personalized party napkins you can choose from to make sure you set the tone.  Giftsin24.com has several styles of graduation personalized party napkins to choose from, like the excellent Cap and Name Foil-Stamped napkins.  For a more general party atmosphere, Palm Tree Foil-Stamped napkins might be more appropriate.  No matter the occasion, one thing is for sure – you can find great personalized napkins to enhance the atmosphere of the party.

The Job Hunt

Most of us know from experience that trying to land a job is difficult.  It can be hard to track down any leads on jobs that you qualify for, especially when you’re first starting out in the job market or in a new career.  Even entry level positions seem to require years of experience, and it can be difficult to find anyone willing to so much as give you a look.

Polishing your resume is very important, but it’s not enough.  Again, if you’re starting out then you may not have very much to pad out your resume.  On top of that, most employers only look at a few of the resumes they receive; many candidates get eliminated from the selection process before their qualifications are ever really looked at.  Many other considerations besides the contents of your resume come into play.

Even if you’re called in for an interview, it’s important to do everything you can to separate yourself from other applicants.  Arrive early, dress sharply, be courteous and respectful to whomever you speak with, and thank the interviewer for calling you in.  In fact, sending a personalized thank you card to the interviewer is a great way to remind them of who you are and keep your name in consideration for the position.

Thank you cards are important in many parts of life, but sending them to prospective employers after an interview can help make the difference between getting hired and having to keep looking elsewhere for a job.  When searching for employment you have to use every tool at your disposal, and a great personalized thank you card sent to prospective employers can definitely nudge the odds in your favor.

Mother’s Day Cards

With Mother’s Day a little more than a week away, people are scrambling to send out cards to their mothers to mark this special day and show their gratitude and love.  Mother’s Day is the third-largest day for sending out cards, behind only Christmas and Valentine’s Day, and to mark the occasion the United States Postal Service is processing all first-class mail between now and May 13th with special Mother’s Day postmarks, as announced by the Greeting Card Association at www.greetingcard.org.

Obviously any Mother’s Day cards sent through the mail this year are going to be a little bit more special thanks to these special postmarks, but why not make things even more special by sending a truly great personalized card?  Everyone loves those store-bought cards with the funny pictures, witty sayings and terrible jokes, but to really convey that Mother’s Day sentiment a classy, beautiful card like the Banner Card is a perfect choice.

Just imagine the good feeling your mother will get when she finds a crisp, beautiful envelope in the mail with a unique Mother’s Day postmark, and opens it up to find an even more beautiful personalized card wishing her a happy Mother’s Day from her favorite child (that’s you, of course).  We all want our mothers to be happy, and sending a treasured message written on a beautiful card will definitely bring a smile to her face.  Then when you give her a call to wish her a happy Mother’s Day, you can hear all about the wonderful card you sent.

Mother’s Day is Coming Up Soon!

Mother’s Day is coming up on May 13th, and if you’re like me you can sometimes struggle to come up with a good gift for the woman who brought you into this world.  On this holiday, everyone wants to show their appreciation for their mom, but it’s not always easy to pick out the right gift, something that says “Thank you for raising me.  Thank you for all the times you took care of me when I was sick, or cooked my favorite meal because I had a bad day at school, or helped me with difficult homework.  Thank you for making me the person I am today.”  No mere gift card or box of candy quite conveys everything we want to say to our mothers on this important day.

Fortunately, Giftsin24.com has the perfect solution in the form of personalized stationery notepads.  There are all kinds of great Family Pride stationery choices you can give to show your mother just how much she means to you, in particular, the Motherly Memo Square with Holder is a great choice, especially for mothers who still have kids in school.

To make this gift of personalized stationery even more personal, you can write a little personal message on the top sheet of the stationery pad, thanking your mom for all the great things she’s done for you over the years and wishing her a happy Mother’s Day.
